MediaLink is a unique, immersion-style WWWeb Development Training and Employment Program offered at no cost to low- income San Francisco residents by the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC). First funded in 1997 by the Mayor's Office of Community Development under a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), MediaLink's mission, in Mayor Brown's words, is to "help share the prosperity of the multimedia industry with low income residents." MediaLink develops partnerships with a wide range of companies that have online presence. Partner companies, such as Macromedia, receive benefits such as priority access to our top graduates, as well as customized training that matches their staffing needs. These partner companies also provide MediaLink with valuable information that keeps our program on the leading edge of industry trends.

Digital Mission, a new and unique collaboration between community training and employment service providers, works to prepare and place low-moderate income* Mission District residents for the growing computer/multimedia workforce. Digital Mission offers classes in a wide range of computer skills, from software and hardware to more advanced classes like web page design and networking systems. Participants are able to take as many or as few classes as they need in order to find a job in the digital field quickly. Once Digital Mission trainees learn a computer skill, they're given job preparation services including resume help and job interviewing skills. Digital Mission is then able to help place these qualified applicants directly into any job requiring computer skills. Current Digital Mission core members, the Mission Hiring Hall, Arriba Juntos, Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) and now Mission Campus of City College of San Francisco, offer a unique array of educational services, computer training and job placement resources in the Mission.
